Here's a look at this week's matchup as the Gamers take on Just The Tip in the first games of the season:

Field Conditions

The game was moved by ABA at the last minute to Cantiague Park in Hicksville. This is a significant field upgrade as the game goes from being played on an elementary school field with a concrete obstruction in right field to a fenced in field with a well manicured infield. With really short fences in right and right center there may be a homerun limit imposed by the umpire prior to the game. In all likelihood balls hit over the rightfield fence will be called as doubles. This probably won't affect the Gamers since they do not have a lefthanded homerun threat in the lineup.

Weather Report

Game time conditions should be partly cloudly with temperatures in the upper 70's to low 80's. However, since it rained significantly on Friday and Saturday the field conditions are expected to be affected considerably. Expect a slick outfield and slow track on the infield that could make baserunning an adventure. That's if the game is not called due to poor conditions.
