Week 2 Preview: Bash at the Beach

Jones Beach, NY -

In what could be a playoff preview, the newly re-established Gamers (1-1), will take on two time defending league champion Game Face (2-0) in what the media is dubbing as the Bash at the Beach.

It will be a key early season test for both teams but especially for the Gamers who are hoping to use this matchup to make a big statement. "We need to have a good showing against Game Face not just for our own confidence but also to let the rest of the league know that there is a new force to be reckoned with," manager Craig Shames stated.

Those sentiments were echoed by boisterous centerfielder Scott Zimmerman who in less eloquent terms said, "it's time to nut up or shut up."

After playing last week with just nine players the Gamers should be back at full strength this week as outfielder Brian Malfettone returns to the team. They will also be boosted by the debut of star slugger Seth Koslow.

While the outcome is still undecided one thing is for sure. It's going to be a hard fought back and forth battle that neither team will soon forget. The battle lines have been drawn in the sand. It's time for the Gamers to find out what they're made of.
